Background

Essential Training Solutions (ETS) launched its first product, Essential Aromatherapy, in October 1998. This product received favourable reviews, was accredited by the prestigious Institute of IT Training with the Silver Award for Self Study Course of the Year 1998 and, most importantly, was received with much enthusiasm by students. It has been reviewed by the GCP and is consequently listed in the GCP Ed Tutor Guide and Student Workbooks. This product has also been presented at both the ISPA and IFA Annual Conferences and, more recently, has been brought to the attention of the IFPA. We are constantly working to ensure that Essential Aromatherapy will continue to largely reflect the generic, course information being taught in the majority of Schools and Colleges.

As a result of demonstrating Essential Aromatherapy in Schools, Colleges and at Exhibitions, requests came flooding in for further courseware. From these requests, reflexology was chosen as the next product. During the development stage, it became apparent that the Anatomy & Physiology section was sufficiently comprehensive to also be distributed separately. On 1st January 2000, Essential Reflexology and Essential Anatomy & Physiology – The Elementary Guide were launched. Students and tutors received both products with great enthusiasm.

1st July 2002 saw the launch of yet another new product - Essential Anatomy & Physiology. Over 300% larger than its predecessor, it takes a deeper look at the body systems and, in doing so, takes Essential Training Solutions into the Academic and Medical markets. In September 2003, Essential Anatomy & Physiology was approved by the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) Accreditation Unit until 14/09/06, and an e-learning version was launched in Spring 2005 and was linked to the RCN’s online Learning Zone.

In spring 2006 we were delighted to become a VTCT Approved Centre to deliver an online Level 3 Anatomy & Physiology Diploma. This enables us to issue a recognised certificate of competence to our own students.

Currently our courseware is supporting thousands of individual students and practitioners, as far a field as the USA, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, China and India. It is being used by numerous colleges across the country, and is being retailed in a few select outlets.

To support the complementary healthcare practitioner further, the Client Management System was released on 1st October 2003. This exciting product allows client details to be kept literally at the fingertips! Version 2 was released in autumn 2005 and includes enhancements suggested by enthusiastic existing customers, making this truly a program “for practitioners by practitioners”.

Feedback is tremendously important to us and allows us to continue to meet the needs of an ever-changing market. Also, to maintain our lead in interactive education we are migrating courses to an e-learning environment to facilitate online reporting and to take us closer towards our ultimate goal of producing online examinations.

The last few years have been very exciting for Essential Training Solutions, and the Directors and support staff are totally committed to continuing to provide the quality products and high level of personal service already associated with this established company.

Expertise

All our training is written by Sharon Coleman M.I.I.T.T.. Sharon started designing and implementing Computer Based Training (CBT) in 1984 and became a CBT Consultant in 1988. She has developed training for numerous organisations in a variety of market sectors including Banking and Finance, Insurance, Retail, Telecommunications, Paper and Print, Transport and Utilities. Sharon was awarded Full Membership status of the Institue of IT Training in May 2000 in recognition of training experience and achievements over the previous 16 years.

All interactive products produced by Essential Training Solutions use fundamental principles of CBT to facilitate the learning process. So what is CBT? The most common misconception is that it is purely teaching people how to use computers. This can be a use, but is by no means the whole story. Computer Based Training is an ideal medium to:

  • Distribute validated information
  • Structure testing mechanisms
  • Monitor learner progress
  • Demonstrate practical techniques using multi-media
It is quite rare for a subject to not include a training objective that is suitable for CBT. It is, however, equally unusual for CBT to be able to satisfy them all. Typically, to fulfill all training needs of a sizeable project, more than one facet of training is required. As a general rule, any information that is not totally dependent on face-to-face interaction can be considered.

Can We Help You?

Have you got a training need that you think could be met by CBT? If so, please contact us and we will be happy to discuss it with you.

Technical Support

ETS training All products are vigorously tested before release and go through many levels of quality assurance. The software used to 'drive' the products is fully licensed and supported.

Every computer is different and so, occasionally, instances arise where a user requires technical support. This can be obtained by calling the usual office number. Every effort will be made to identify what is causing the problem and to find a remedy. Should it be necessary, an evening telephone call can be arranged if the user is unable to have access to the relevant PC during normal working hours.

We do not consider a query to be finalised until we are assured that the customer is fully satisfied with the goods and the service received.
