our excellent courses and products, then this page
may be of help to you. 2011 was a great year for us. We celebrated our 13th

provide quality online courses to their membership, released a new VTCT online course and published the Complete Pathology for Complementary Therapies book! We are looking forward to 2012, particularly as we will be re-releasing our Client Management System and have lots of other exciting plans in the pipeline.

Background
Essential Training Solutions (ETS) launched its
first product, Essential Aromatherapy, in October
1998. This product received favourable reviews, was
accredited by the prestigious Institute of IT
Training with the Silver Award for Self Study Course
of the Year 1998 and, most importantly, was received
with much enthusiasm by students.
As a result of demonstrating Essential Aromatherapy
in Schools, Colleges and at Exhibitions, requests came
flooding in for further courseware. From these requests,
reflexology was chosen as the next product. During
the development stage, it became apparent that the
Anatomy & Physiology section was sufficiently comprehensive
to also be distributed separately. On 1st January 2000,
Essential Reflexology and Essential Anatomy & Physiology – The
Elementary Guide were launched. Students and tutors
received both products with great enthusiasm.
1st July 2002 saw the launch of yet another new product
- Essential Anatomy & Physiology. Over 300% larger
than its predecessor, it took a deeper look at the
body systems and, in doing so, took Essential Training
Solutions into the Academic and Medical markets. In
September 2003, Essential Anatomy & Physiology
was approved by the Royal College of Nursing (RCN)
Accreditation Unit until 14/09/06, and an e-learning
version was launched in Spring 2005 and was linked
to the RCN’s Online Learning Zone.
To support the complementary healthcare practitioner
further, the Client Management System was released
on 1st October 2003. This exciting product allows client
details to be kept literally at the fingertips! Version
2 was released in autumn 2005 and includes enhancements
suggested by enthusiastic existing customers, making
this truly a program “for practitioners by practitioners”.
In spring 2006 we were delighted to become a VTCT
Approved Centre to deliver an online Level 3 Anatomy
& Physiology Diploma. This enabled us to issue a
recognised certificate of competence to our own
students and in 2008 the content of this course was approved by
the FHT.
October 2008 saw the release of a VTCT Level 3
Diploma in Health, Safety, Security and Employment
Standards, the FHT-approved Essential Health and Safety
Diploma, and the Essential Health and Safety Resource.
We also migrated all our courseware to a new,
modern, intuitive and colourful Online Learning
Environment that is conducive to studying and
assessment, as well as being great fun to use.
In 2009 we joined forces with
Llewellyn Europe
(Safety Advisers) Ltd, to produce a
Health and Safety Induction Course for SMEs. In
October it received approval from IOSH (Institution
of Occupational Safety and Health). This new product
takes ETS into a completely different market and has
its own web presence at
www.startingworksafely.com .
The Autumn of 2009 also saw the release of the
Essential Anatomy & Physiology Question Bank.
Priced at just £6.99, this was the first ETS product ever to be sold for under £10.
In the first quarter of 2010 we released the Health
& Safety Question Bank and the Aromatherapy
Question Bank, and at the beginning of June we
released
a VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Anatomy, Physiology and
Pathology for Complementary Therapies, and a
restructured FHT-Approved CPD course for
those who wish to refresh anatomy & physiology and earn 20 CPD
points.
On 22nd July 2010 we withdrew the long standing VTCT
Level 3 Diploma in Anatomy & Physiology (D1060), a
week in advance of its withdrawal from the QCF. Its
natural replacement was the VTCT Level 3 Diploma in
Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology for Complementary
Therapies, which received rave
reviews. Then, at the beginning of August, we
released an FHT-Approved Level 3 Diploma in
Pathology. This Pathology CPD course contains the 72
conditions covered in the VTCT diploma and is ideal
for extending or refreshing knowledge. On 18th
August the VTCT confirmed an update to their Level 3
Diploma in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology
qualification. It now contains the "less common
pathology" unit and we released it the same day!
In September we began to offer CPD courses in
partnership with the Association of Reflexologists
and our working relationship has gone from strength
to strength.
On 1st October we entered a partnership with the
Federation of Holistic Therapists to offer CPD
courses to their members at a discounted rate.
In the first quarter of 2011 we were
commissioned by the Association of Reflexologists to
develop a Bridging Course to facilitate membership
to those who qualified with the VTCT prior to
January 2011. As a result of this course, we wrote
an Additional Pathology course. This, in conjunction
with our original Pathology course, covers all the
conditions listed in the core curriculum. The
combination of these two course created Complete
Pathology, which is the recommended route to AoR
membership for those with an ITEC or IEB
qualification that contains insufficient pathology
to meet membership criteria.
In July 2011 we released another VTCT accredited
course. The Level 3 Award in Less Common Pathology
for Complementary Therapies is worth 4 credits and
is a useful add-on for those who are missing this
valuable unit.
On August 1st, the content of Complete Pathology
was released as a book entitled Complete Pathology
for Complementary Therapies. Although written in
partnership with the Association of Reflexologists,
Complete Pathology for Complementary Therapies has
no bias to reflexology. It is written as a generic
guide to support ALL therapists.
February 6th 2012 saw the release a Reflexology
Question Bank and Online Resource. Suitable for
students or qualified therapists, this product
contains quizzes, downloadable resources, case
studies and video clips.
We have a presence on
Facebook and our course developer, Sharon
Coleman, can be found on
LinkedIn.
Currently we have students taking their VTCT Final
Assessments every 8 weeks, and our courseware is supporting thousands
of individual students and practitioners, as far afield as the USA, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, China
and India. Our products are being used by numerous colleges across
the country, and are being retailed in a few select
outlets. Feedback is tremendously important to us
and is always encouraged to help us continue to meet
the needs of an ever-changing market.
The last few years have been very exciting for Essential
Training Solutions, and the Directors and support staff
are totally committed to continuing to provide the
quality products and high level of personal service
already associated with this established company.

She has developed training for numerous

Training Needs Analysis and then develop the
required interactive training for Europe’s largest
paper merchant, who had a significant training
requirement due to a company merger. It was a hugely
acclaimed success.
All products are vigorously tested
before release and go through many levels of quality
assurance.
Every computer is different and so, occasionally, instances arise where a user
requires technical support. This can be obtained by
Contacting Us or calling the usual office
number. Every effort will be made to identify what is causing the problem and
to find a remedy. Should it be necessary, an evening telephone call can be
arranged if the user is unable to have access to the relevant PC during normal
working hours.
We do not consider a query to be finalised until we are assured that the customer
is fully satisfied with the goods and the service received.
