Why take an Online Course in Anatomy & Physiology?

Anatomy and Physiology is perfectly suited to online delivery. Because anatomy and physiology is purely theoretical and requires no hands-on or face-to-face interaction, the whole of the subject can be presented and assessed online. You are not left unsupported - you have unlimited contact with an e-tutor who is there to help, guide and encourage to ensure you reach your individual goals. You also have access to an online Student Forum to communicate with other students.

Home Study

Our online VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Anatomy & Physiology requires no classroom attendance. The full interactive tutorial is delivered online, in the comfort of your own home. You can self-study at your own pace and fit your study time around your personal commitments. You do not have to wait for the beginning of the next academic year to start - you can enrol at any time.

Online Delivery

The body systems covered in our online Anatomy and Physiology course can be taken in any order. You can choose the order in which you take them to tailor your study to your own needs. Throughout the online anatomy & physiology tutorial you are presented with questions to test your understanding as you progress. When you have taken the tutorial you can move on to the formative and summative assessments.

Online Assessment

Many distance learning courses involve posting assignments to your tutor and then waiting for them to be marked and then returned. This is not the case for our online anatomy & physiology course. All assessments are taken online and marked immediately. You can therefore progress faster and without any inconvenience. Once you have demonstrated your understanding by passing these online assessments you can take the Final Assessment.

Final Assessment

As you would expect for an online anatomy & physiology course, the final assessment is delivered online too. This is the only part of the course that you cannot take from home. You must attend our Examination Centre in Milton Keynes for just half a day. We will ask you to bring photo ID and you will sit a final invigilated assessment. This contains only 25 multiple choice questions with a 70% pass mark and, like every other aspect of our Level 3 Anatomy & Physiology course, it is delivered online. There is no waiting for weeks for your result – you know immediately. We hold Final Assessments every 8 weeks and so, not only can you enrol at any time, but you have a broad choice as to when you sit your Final Assessment too.

When is the final assessment held?

The next final assessment dates are Monday 28th April, Monday 30th June, Monday 1st September and Monday 27th October in Milton Keynes. Others will follow at about 8 week intervals. You will be required to meet for refreshments at 10.30am for an 11am start.

What happens after I enrol?

We e-mail you with the login details that you use to access the course. We send you a VTCT Student Badge and the VTCT registration form for you to fill in and return to us in a stamped addressed envelope. You progress through the course at your own pace, supported as required by your e-tutor. Once you have shown your mastery of the subject you elect to sit your final assessment and, if successful, your VTCT Level 3 Diploma will be sent to you.

Live Outside of the UK? We can offer an online VTCT Level 3 International Diploma for students that study outside of the UK. The course will run in the same way, but students can take their timed online final external assessment in any location. The International Diploma, unlike the UK version, will not be automatically accepted within the UK. The acceptance of the International Diploma will be dealt with on an individual basis by establishments. Students who hold the International Diploma and wish to transfer this to the UK Diploma will be able to do so by simply sitting an invigilated final assessment at an approved UK Centre (including, of course, ETS). This will be available at a discounted rate of 50% of the current VTCT UK assessment fee (currently £42). The VTCT centre may also make an administrative charge (ETS charge an admin fee of £50).

This course is delivered online and so there is a minimum system requirement as set out below. If you are in any doubt we can arrange for you to access the course for a few minutes to test compatibility. We offer full technical support on all our products and this is no exception!

I never knew how fun this course was going to be. I was very pleased when I heard there was a way of gaining a recognised qualification in A&P without having to travel nearly an hour every week to the nearest college. An added advantage to this course is that it fits round my very busy life. I'm thoroughly enjoying the course and have found it be very well structured and once into the flow of doing the different sections, relatively easy to follow. Online learning is a really enjoyable way of studying. I have been able to learn at my own pace when and where I have wanted to! All the study/subject material is easily accessable on the Essential Learning website. The prospect of learning Anatomy and Physiology seemed very daunting. The subject matter looked difficult and the standard text books looked incomprehensible. Furthermore the courses offered by my local colleges were few and far between and those that were available were inconvenient. Then I found this amazing online course with ETS. I can study in my own time, whenever it is convenient. The subject matter is well presented, broken down into manageable sections and easy to understand. Little tests along the way and self assessments, at the end of each topic, help to cement understanding. The website has a forum where you can talk to other students and there is always a tutor to turn to for information or help. Don't get me wrong the Anatomy and Physiology course is not a walk in the park, it requires commitment and a lot of study, but this online course eases the burden considerably. I never realized just how much I would enjoy getting back to studying as I have done on this course. My preference was being able to work at my own pace coupled with the enjoyment aspect of learning of A&P. Highly essential for me as I'm also involved with completing additional Bowen training. My long and irregular work hours make attending college difficult so I was delighted to find that Essential Training Solutions are offering the VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Anatomy and Physiology through an online distance learning course.
